If your ads aren’t getting the results you hoped for, you’ll find this article very useful.

In the next 4 minutes, I’ll tell you why, and more importantly, I’ll show you exactly how to make them do what they are supposed to ― get you clients and make you money.

Most people have a rough idea of how ads should look like. They’ve seen them on TV, radio, YouTube, and many other places.

The ads you see everywhere are run by huge companies like Coca-cola, Amazon, Netflix, Ford… Companies with limitless marketing budgets.

They pay huge amounts of money to get their brand in front of people.

The idea is that if people know them, they’ll be more likely to buy from them. Makes sense right?

So, many business owners go for a similar approach. They try to “get their name out there”. And here’s what happens…

Nothing. Sales are the same. They don’t have more clients. They don’t make any more money. They just waste it on ineffective advertising.

Making Ads Work For You

If you’re running a small business, you can’t just throw money around and hope that someone maybe buys at some point.

You need to know that when you spend money on advertising, you’ll get more back.

You spend a dollar on advertising and you make two dollars back. Or three. Or four. Or twenty.

Okay, so what do we do instead?

It’s actually quite simple. We need to make sure there is a clear connection between the ad and making sales. For example:

The ad makes them go to our website and buy something,

or it makes them fill out a contact form. Then we call them, and we sell them.

How To Craft Offers That Generate Sales

Our ads shouldn’t tell the readers all sorts of info about our business. We’re not trying to raise our “brand awareness”. Besides, the readers don’t really care about our business :( They want to know what's in it for them.

So we need to take a good look at their situation and figure out how our product/service is going to benefit them.

Now here’s a thing to keep in mind: Not every person will buy from us. So we need to focus on those who will. And the way to figure out who these people are is simple.

Take a look at the customers you already have. Try to figure out what they have in common. Is it mostly men, or women? How old are they? What are they like?

Sure, many different people buy from you. It’s almost never just men or women. Just old or young. But if we can pinpoint who your ideal customers are, we can focus our ads on them, and we’ll have the highest chance of success.

Once we know who we’re selling to, we need to understand why they buy.

Just think about what they like about your product and what they dislike about the other options (competitors, other solutions). If you don’t know, look at your reviews, the reviews of your competitors, or better yet - talk to your customers.

Now tell them how your product does all the things they like without any of the things they don’t.

Explain how it’s going to help them achieve their desired outcome.

Don’t Make This Mistake

Now, it’s time to direct them to take action. And this is where things tend to go wrong. Often ads don’t really make it clear what the reader should do. And that’s a big problem. Confused people never buy.

There needs to be zero doubt in their mind about what the next step is. So we tell them exactly what to do. Here’s an example of a clear offer:

“If you want your house painted, fill out the form below and we’ll get back to you to handle the details.”

Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated. Just tell them what they need to do if they are interested, and what happens next.

Here's an extra tip: Make sure the response mechanism is convenient for them. If you have them call you, chances are it’s not a good time for them to call. So they’ll put it off, and maybe they’ll forget.

Let them message you or fill out a contact form. That usually works better.

To sum everything up, make sure you get the perspective of your potential customers. If you do, I’m pretty sure you’ll have a lot of success with running ads.

Still, if you can’t find enough time in the day to take care of everything yourself, we’ll be happy to do it for you. Contact us for a free consultation: https://www.mmrleads.com/free-marketing-analysis
